Feeling Down or Depressed?
Sometimes you may feel low in spirits, a bit down and lacking in get up and go. Often this can be linked with a period of stress or anxiety and could lead to depression.
There are many types of depressive symptoms, some of which are down to chemical imbalances, and others related to more severe mental illness. Here we are dealing with the type where the stresses and strains of life become overwhelming, and lead to feelings of inadequacy, lack of motivation and general despond or even despair.
Many people get depressed at some time in their lives. Sometimes this may be in response to an obvious trauma such as a bereavement or stress at work. At other times there may seem to be no obvious cause, or there may be an accumulation of life events which individually would not be too troublesome.
So how can I help when you are down?
Firstly, I will listen. It is important for you to be heard and for me to understand your experience, whether your feelings are constant or whether they vary in intensity I need to understand how this affects your quality of life.
Then I will show you how to relax thoroughly, giving your mind and body an opportunity to unwind and recharge the batteries, and giving you the chance to take some time for yourself, something which is critical but which we often go without. Regularly relaxing in this way, particularly if supported by a hypnosis recording tailored to your needs, is in itself extremely beneficial.
After this we will be working in partnership, to examine and resolve any underlying factors which may have triggered your symptoms, to release any associated negative emotions, and to start rebuilding the future. Often it is difficult to imagine a future when you are in a state of despair and an important part of the process is to start seeing yourself moving forward again, free from these negative feelings.
We will also explore any self limiting patterns of behaviour which may be contributing to the problem. Once you understand how such patterns can prevent you from living the life you want then it becomes possible to choose new ways of behaving and to move on in a much more positive way.
In addition I will give you therapeutic tools which you can use for yourself as a resource between sessions. We may also explore whether you are affected by individual energy toxins, substances in the environment or which you consume as food which adversely affect your energy and sense of wellbeing.
I believe that with commitment the work you do with me can be of tremendous benefit and it is of course entirely natural. Often only a few sessions are required to bring about a positive change.
And even if the depression is related to chemical imbalances or perhaps Seasonal Affective Disorder, I can still give your subconscious mind positive instructions for change along with teaching you HypnoHealing techniques.
