About Liz Kotarska

Liz began her career in chartered surveying, working in the field of commercial property, and remains a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Whilst some of the more practical aspects of this profession may seem to have little in common with her work as a hypnotherapist, the values acquired in this environment are very relevant.

Such values include high professional standards, ensuring the client is properly informed and prepared, client confidentiality, analysis of what the client wants to achieve and whilst working towards that desired outcome having the flexibility to adjust as the client makes changes during the progress of the work.

Having taken a career break in order to raise her family, Liz returned to her original profession, aware that perhaps it wasn't something she felt passionate about any longer, but not yet knowing what would fill that role instead.

Returning to work triggered a spell of separation anxiety in one of her children. Usually bright and confident, this child became tearful and unsure of themselves. Liz was recommended to go to a hypnotherapist and the child was back to normal within three sessions.

This so impressed Liz that she decided to try hypnotherapy for herself; underlying the usual ups and downs of family life had long been the feeling that there ‘must be more to it all than this'. For Liz, hypnotherapy was a life changing experience.  It began to dawn on her that the only thing in her way was herself and the underlying subconscious beliefs which held her back. As a result of this work Liz realised that she just had to train as a hypnotherapist herself and deliver its many benefits to others.

Liz qualified in 2004 and has since been practising from her home in East Bergholt, dealing with both private clients and offering courses, in Self Hypnosis and Slimming, which she runs jointly with colleague Hugh Clover.

Shortly afterwards Liz extended her interests into the field of wellbeing, and the practical measures we can all take to look after ourselves better. Find out more about practical steps you can take to improve your wellbeing on our sleep , exercise , nutrition , air and water pages.

During 2007 Liz trained to diagnostic level in Thought Field Therapy (Callahan Techniques), learning about the body’s energy systems and meridians together with the effects of toxins (by this we mean individual rather than generic toxins) on those systems. Find out more on our Thought Field Therapy page and our blog on Individual Energy Toxins .

Liz is married to IT wizard and website designer, Nick, and has three children.
