Thought Field Therapy
Thought Field Therapy (TFT) is a simple technique for treating a wide range of emotional, psychological and physical issues through acupressure points which, quite simply, are tapped while the client thinks about the particular problem.
When we are well our thoughts and feelings are undisturbed and we just get on with our lives. However, at certain times our thoughts and feelings are aroused, perhaps due to a fear, or anxiety for example. These negative feelings cause perturbations in the thought field. By using this tapping therapy on certain meridian points these perturbations can be removed and the unpleasant feelings resolved.
Thought Field Therapy is particularly successful in the treatment of fears, phobias, anxiety, trauma (including PTSD), OCD and some types of physical pain. It can also be used for a wide range of less extreme emotional issues. In addition TFT can help bring down addictive behaviour and cravings, proving a very useful tool for those wishing to lose weight or stop other compulsive or habitual behaviours.
The beauty of TFT is that the client need not go into any particular personal detail if they do not wish to do so. All they need to do is think about the problem, and follow the therapist's instructions to tap a particular sequence of points on the body.
Some problems respond extremely quickly to this type of treatment, whereas others can be more complex and require both time and patience to resolve. For certain clients it is vital to identify their Individual Energy Toxins. Whilst not toxic in the wider sense these are substances which some people do not tolerate as well as others, and are unique to the individual.
They can be present in the environment (such as perfumes or washing powder) or in the food which we eat. IETs can interfere with treatment or cause problems on their own account.
I have often thought that I may need to have a 'Food Intolerance' test carried out, but the years go by and I never get around to it! I knew that if I had lots of bread or potatoes I would become very bloated and uncomfortable and would often suffer with stomach complaints, so I did try to reduce these somewhat! However, I always felt lethargic and my day to day life was quite often a struggle!
I had a couple of appointments with Liz using TFT and as I wasn't gaining the full benefit, she suggested that we investigate my individual energy toxins (IETs) - which was extremely easy to do. I then started to exclude particular foods from my diet and avoid certain perfumed substances to which I was found sensitive.
Within two weeks I was starting to feel the benefit and now two months later, I am feeling like a new person! My energy levels have increased tremendously, I no longer have food cravings and I have lost half a stone in weight - without any effort! I feel this is the start of a 'new me' and I certainly will not be going back to my old habits!

TFT can be used as an entirely independent treatment. In fact you can be completely sceptical and disbelieving and it will still work.
Although it is entirely useful and effective as a stand alone therapy it is also a powerful addition to hypnotherapy, helping relieve emotional distress, and thus helping the client address their issues more easily and clearly.
I qualified as a Thought Field Therapist (Callaghan Techniques) in 2007 and am trained to Diagnostic level.

I would recommend Liz without a moment's hesitation to anyone who wants to learn to relax, deal with annoying and unhelpful self-talk, overcome long-term habits and generally make the most of their life.
