Water, Drinking and Dehydration

Pure mountain water

Do we drink enough?

Your Body's Many Cries For Wateralt

In much of the western world we can be thankful that we have a plentiful supply of disease free water, but do we drink enough? We know that for good health we need good nutrition but what we drink and how much often gets neglected. Mild chronic dehydration can cause an increase in some symptoms such as anxiety and mood swings, sleep problems and fatigue. It can also contribute to or even cause physical problems like headaches and back pain.

Over recent years there has been some debate about tea and coffee, and whether they can be included as part of our liquid intake as they are known to have a diuretic effect. My personal opinion is that it probably depends on the individual. However I do find that if clients are suffering from stress and consume a lot of caffeine in their drinks, it will help if they cut down or cut out the caffeine.

The importance of drinking sufficient water on a regular basis cannot be over emphasised. By the time we experience the feeling of thirst we are already dehydrated. It is better to make drinking water a regular habit than to wait until we are thirsty. Read Your Body's Many Cries for Water: A Revolutionary Natural Way to Prevent Illness and Restore Good Healthalt to find out more. Basically this book suggests that many chronic illnesses could be relieved simply by drinking sufficient water.

Water Quality

altI have to say I don't particularly enjoy tap water. It seems to smell of chemicals, doesn't taste that great and feels as if it sits on the stomach. I enjoy bottled water but worry whether I might be consuming something in the plastic.

A few years ago I came across a work top filter system that not only rids the water of unwanted chemicals but filters out any sedimentary matter, odours and organic compounds. The water is then mineralised and the result is something which not only tastes great but has a ph compatible with the human body. It's almost like fresh mountain water created in the kitchen. Yes, I do sound like an advertisement, and yes I'm an agent for this system, but I will only recommend something that I have found useful myself.

Here is what one satisfied client from Colchester has to say about this system:

Dear Liz,

I am taking this opportunity to thank you for introducing me to the water filter

Since its arrival I have drunk more water than ever. The difference in the taste and the clarity is so much better than tap water.

I personally like my water at room temperature so drink it straight from the filter whereas my husband prefers it chilled. So I keep a covered jug in the fridge and then we are both happy.

Thank you again for the professional way in which you dealt with the order and the swift delivery. I tell all my friends and family about the filter and would have no hesitation in recommending others to invest in one now.

Yours sincerely

Margaret

Interesting...

There is a fascinating little book 'The Hidden Messages in Water' which explores the idea that water has a cellular memory and that it responds to what is going on around it. Whether you believe this or not, it certainly arouses curiosity and has some wonderful photographs.
